I am South Dakota's delegate for the Will Steger Foundation. I also happen to be a professional student, soaking up knowledge with the hopes of improving the world which we call home.
I've spent my summer hanging out as a Sioux Falls Green Project intern, currently fortunate enough to keep working with them through the year to educate and inspire the community on living sustainably.
I've done some travel in my time to developing countries, and it's helped me to realize the impacts our actions have across the globe (and vice versa). Through those experiences and in working with youth I've developed a greater appreciation for the responsibility and duty we have for each other as people in the same global community.
I'm excited for the opportunities SD has in the future because the sate can be a leader in renewable energy along with providing food across the nation/globe. Through the new clean energy jobs that are being created, youth will have even more reasons to stay in SD...along with fresh air, great schools, safe communities, clean environment... It's a great place to be!
"We are U.S. Midwest youth advocates working to fulfill our global responsibilities by teaching and empowering climate action through local collaboration and international partnership. We seek an equitable global climate treaty that catalyzes clean energy opportunities and reduces climate impacts in the Midwest, promotes just sustainable development everywhere and builds bridges of collaboration between our region in the wider world."
